One losing streak was stopped, one winning streak was halted, and unfortunately another losing streak coninued in high school football on Friday night.

The Alvirne Broncos, who suffered a tragic loss to their program two weeks ago, returned to the field on Friday night but fell to Londonderry in Division I. In Division II, Milford’s modest two-game win streak was halted at Pelham, but Campbell in Division III got back on the winning track at ConVa.

Here’s the rundown:

CAMPBELL 30, CONVAL 14

The Cougars improved to 5-2 with running back Scott Hershberger leading the way with another strong rushing performance.

Defensively, Chris Corbett and Jackson Kanaley played well.

ConVal fell to 1-6. Campbell is at Kearsarge next Friday.

PELHAM 35, MILFORD 14

The Pythons (7-0) jumped out to a 21-0 lead and held on as the Spartans fell to 3-4 despite making it close in the fourth quarter.

Pelham, which led 14-0 at the half, got TDs from Jake Travis (34-yard run), Scott Paquette (1-yard run) and Cesar Martinez (25 yard pass from Travis) before Milford could get on the board via a Charles Urda 26-yard TD strike to Trice Cote.

Urda tossed another TD pass to Chris Costifas (49 yards) in the fourth quarter for Milford, bringing Milford to within 21-14. But hte Pythons got a Paquette 6-yard run and Dom Herrling 49-yard interception return to seal the deal. Pelham outrushed Milford 273-28.

“Give credit to Milford; they played us tough from the opening kickoff to the final whistle,” Pelham coach Tom Babaian said. “Our ground game stepped up and made plays offensively when we had to have them.”

Milford hosts Hillsboro-Deering-Hopkinton next Friday.

LONDONDERRY 48, ALVIRNE 14

The Broncos returned to the field after last weekend’s action was cancelled, and competed with two TDs against the defending Divison I state champions (6-0, 6-1 overall), whose only loss was to out of state Bishop Hendricken in Rhode Island.

Alvirne (0-6) is at Salem next Friday. Londonderry is at Winnacunnet, a rematch of last year’s title game.
