HS Roundup: Broncos win fifth straight; Cougars stay unbeaten

Some good soccer things are happening across the bridge in the Hudson-Litchfield area, as the Alvirne girls won their fifth straight on Tuesday, and both the Campbell boys and girls soccer teams stayed unbeaten with wins. The two are a combined 15-0.

It was a fairly busy Tuesday, including Hollis Brookline’s field hockey win over Milford. Here’s a look:

GIRLS SOCCER

ALVIRNE 1, LONDONDERRY 0

The Broncos (6-4) notched their fifth straight win as Paige Boudreau was the only player to find the back of the net. Bella Coppi had an assist and Paige McKinley held down the fort in goal. Alvirne hosts Timberlane on Friday.

CAMPBELL 2, MONADNOCK 1

The Cougars (7-0) hot streak continues with their seventh win in a row. Morgan Wagner and Abby Guerrette scored one goal each. Anais Smith and Gabby Kim-Levesque added assists. Goalie Sam Roche had three saves. Heidi Smith, Riley Barka and Alex Wallenmaier led the defensive unit. Campbell hosts Raymond today.

MERRIMACK 1, HANOVER 0

Cailia Scully scored in the second half to secure the win for the Tomahawks (5-2-1). Molly Perkins had 20 saves in goal. Merrimack visits Windham on Saturday.

MILFORD 3, CONVAL 1

The Spartans (6-3-1) won their fourth game in a row by grabbing a road win against ConVal. Alina St. George scored on an assist from Nevaeh Fay. Claire beat two defenders on an assist from Marissa Sage and Ava Hutcheons found the side of the net on a great finish. Kate Hansen, Addi Hopkins and Emily Lloyd anchored the defense.

Milford visits Plymouth on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

CAMPBELL 6, MONADNOCK 0

Jack Bourque secured yet another shutout win for the Cougars (8-0). Campbell had six different goal scorers on the stat sheet.

Campbell hosts Raymond today.

LEBANON 1, SOUHEGAN 0 (OT)

The Sabers (1-7) lose a tough one in overtime to Lebanon. Finnegan Daly made seven saves between the posts. Souhegan visits Kingswood on Thursday.

MILFORD 4, LACONIA 2

The Spartans even their record at 5-5 after a home win against Laconia. Milford saw goals from Aden Cremonini, Avery Wilson, Gage Tlapa and Maddox Maguire. Milford visits Plymouth on Thursday.

LONDONDERRY 5, ALVIRNE 0

The Broncos lose their third game in a row dropping their record to 2-6. Garrett Howard, Lucas Maki and Owen Suprenant played well for the locals. Alvirne visits Timberlane on Thursday.

FIELD HOCKEY

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 7, MILFORD 0

Sabrina Hill netted a hat trick to lead the Cavaliers (6-2) in a shutout win against the Spartans (1-8-1). Nyah Jernberg (assist), Katrina Lee, Lindsey Dattis and Alyssa Hill scored one goal apiece. Ella Marcum and Rae Kline led the defensive effort.

HB hosts ConVal and Milford visits Plymouth on Friday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

LACONIA 3, SOUHEGAN 2

The Sabers fall to 1-8 after their seventh consecutive loss. Arianna Tapia (12 assists, 10 service points, six aces), Julia Calontuoni (19 service points, nine kills, four aces), Lizzie Benner (eight service points, six aces), Julia Koch eight service points, four aces, 85 percent serve receive) and Alicia Kennedy (seven kills, seven aces) played well in the loss. Souhegan hosts Winnisquam on Friday.

CAMPBELL 3, HANOVER 0

The Cougars (6-0) sweep the night at Hanover 25-21, 25-18, 25-17. Sofia Mcpherson (27 assists, seven aces, block), Kiana Henderson (six kills), Ava Bergh (five kills) and Madison Bruner (seven kills, two blocks) led the way for the locals. Campbell visits Manchester West on Friday.

PELHAM 3, MILFORD 2

The Spartans lost a fifth set heartbreaker, 17-15, after splitting the first four, to fall to 4-3. Milford won sets two and four 25-22, 25-13, while Pelham won the opener 25-17 and the third set, 25-20.

Bailey Johnson had a whopping 20 kills with two blocks and five digs. Other Spartan contributors were Hannah Harrington (31 assists, five kills, seven digs, two aces), Kylie Allen (five aces, five kills, two digs), Abby Krulis (seven kills, two blocks, two assists, six digs, two aces) and Piper Greenhalgh (four aces, six digs, three kills).

Milford is at John Stark on Thursday.

GOLF

HANOVER 222, SPAULDING 223, SALEM 233, MERRIMACK 247

The Tomahawks had a rough day at Souhegan Woods on Tuesday. Matthew Licata (47), Nolan Rousseau (47), Maxwell Townsend (50), Maxwell Giles (51) and Lucas Mantini (52) were the top finishers for the Tomahawks.
