MANCHESTER — Remember, high school football fans, today’s 10th annual CHaD East-West All-Star Football Game at Saint Anselm College’s Grappone Stadium will be earlier than originally scheduled.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., as the game’s original 1 p.m. start time was pushed up two hours due to the heat advisory in effect for today, with temps expected in the 90s by early afternoon.

The West leads the series 6-3, winning last year’s game 29-6. The East’s last win was 17-13 in 2019, and there was no game in 2020 due to the pandemic.

There are plenty of locals playing in this year’s game. On the West team is C.J. Junod of Bishop Guertin; Connor Rowsell, Josh Compoh and Brady Swisher from Nashua South; Caden Zalenski, Ben Kilgore and Logan Barnhill from Milford; Rocco Ciardi of Nashua North; Tony Garrant and Mitch Hauser from Souhegan, and Merrimack’s Kyle Crampton, Shea Goodwin, Connor Williams and Cam Wheeler. On the East team is Alvirne’s Brendan Graham and Andrew Porter.

The same two head coaches from last year are coaching this year’s teams: Robin Bowkett of Souhegan guides the West squad, while Spaulding’s Kevin Hebert is coaching the East.

Miami Dolphins tight end Hunter Long, an Exeter alum who played in the 2016 CHaD Game, will be part of the pre-game coin toss.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. For those who are planning on purchasing tickets today, purchases are credit card only, no cash.
