Super Saturday was super for some local high school teams, and not so much for others.

For example, the Wilton-Lyndeborough baseball team recorded a stunning upset of No. 1 Derryfield. Campbell boys lacrosse and softball continued their title-focused runs.

But Nashua South was surprisingly manhandled by Pinkerton in the Division I boys lacrosse quarterfinals, and Bishop Guertin and Hollis Brookline saw their softball seasons end, the Cavs in a no-hitter. Ouch.

Here are the mixed results:

BOYS LACROSSE

QUARTERFINALS

DIVISION I

NO. 6 PINKERTON 15, NO. 3 NASHUA SOUTH 3

The Panthers (14-5) were stunned by an Astros squad that came running out of the gate. Nate Campbell scored two goals, Griffin Johnson scored one goal and Ethan Johnson made 19 saves in net.

NO. 2 BISHOP GUERTIN 18, NO. 7 BEDFORD 2

The Cardinals once again put together a complete game to dominate the Bulldogs. Brady Dumont (assist) tallied a hat trick to lead the offense. JJ Murphy, Connor Bouvier (two assists), Caleb Yeung, Tim Kiely and Quinn Cepiel (three assists) added two goals apiece. Jacob Caron, Noah Zeman, Ryan Jolicoeur and Kevin Broderick each had one goal. BG faces off against rival No. 6 Pinkerton on Wednesday at Bill Ball Stadium.

NO. 4 LONDONDERRY 9, NO. 5 MERRIMACK 3

The Tomahawks (9-8) season ends at the hands of the Lancers. Ryan Rezendes, Jackson Forbes and Kyle Dunn each found the back of the net. Alec Vietry added an assist and Aidan Ward made six saves.

DIVISION III

NO. 1 CAMPBELL 16, NO. 9 GILFORD 4

The unbeaten Cougars continue their rampage through the ranks of Division III, and will now face No. 4 Laconia on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the semifinals at Laconia’s Bank of New Hampshire Stadium.

Campbell, now 16-0, beat Laconia in Laconia back on May 9, 12-4.

BASEBALL

QUARTERFINALS

DIVISION IV

NO. 9 WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 5, NO. 1 DERRYFIELD 0

Sean Brennan pitched a complete game allowing five hits and striking out nine in the Warriors shutout win against the top seed. Ty Bacci hit a double bringing in three runs. WLC plays No. 4 Newmarket on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

QUARTERFINALS

DIVISION I

NO. 1 EXETER 11, NO. 9 BISHOP GUERTIN 2

The Cardinals struggled to get their offense going and were bounced from the tournament by Exeter. BG’s two runs came in the seventh inning. Sophia Bilodeau, Meara McDevitt and Torey Hart had one hit apiece.

DIVISION II

NO. 3 JOHN STARK 1, NO. 6 HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0

Austyn Kump threw a no hitter with 12 strikeouts in the Cavaliers playoff loss. HB held the Generals until the fifth inning where one run scored on an error.

DIVISION III

NO. 2 CAMPBELL 8, NO.7 HOPKINTON 6

It’s hard to beat a team three times in a season, but the Campbell Cougars pulled it off in reaching the semifinals. The defending champions (15-2) will face No. 11 Berlin on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Plymouth State.

Campbell’s other wins over the Hawks last month were 11-5 and 3-2. And, they beat Hopkinton in last year’s championship game.
