Cavaliers wind up regular season 14-2 with win over Stark

By Tom King - Staff Writer | Jun 1, 2022

HOLLIS — The Hollis Brookline Cavaliers have enjoyed one of their best regular seasons, perhaps since their state title year of 2016.

The Cavs finished the regular season Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep of the John Stark Generals. HB, after the 25-12, 25-8, 25-20 win finished up the regular schedule at 14-2.

Jake Laborde led the way with eight kills and nine digs, while Noah Sinclair (five kills, one ace) and Dan Sattler (two aces, one kill, nine digs) also helped out.

HB now awaits the start of the state tournament. They’ll likely be seeded second and get a bye to next Tuesday’s quarterfinals, but that won’t be official until the pairings come out later this week.

Bishop Guertin (2-13), which fell to Goffstown 3-1 last night and 4-12 Souhegan, which lost to Salem 3-0, will likely not qualify for the post season.
