We’re hitting the home stretch for the high school sports spring season.

Baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse plus boys volleyball have two about weeks left in their regular seasons.

But this is the final week for high school tennis, and of course boys and girls track teams as they’ll have their big state championship meets the final weekend of the month, May 27-28.

Here’s a look at how things have gone so far:

BASEBALL – In Division I, locally Nashua South goes into the week at 8-5, best local record. In Division II, Hollis Brookline sits atop the standings at 10-1, while Souhegan is at 11-4. Campbell is in the middle of the pack at 7-5 while Wilton-Lyndeborough is the same in Division IV.

SOFTBALL – Merrimack (8-3) and Bishop Guertin (8-6) are the top two locals in Divsion I, also in the middle of the pack, No. 6 on down. Hollis Brookline (8-3) th e only local contending in Division II, while of course defending champ Campbell is 10-1, in the top three.

BOYS LACROSSE – Bishop Guertin of course is numero uno and looking as the clear favorite for a Division I title, but it’s a good year for Nashua South with already 10 wins. The other team of course is Campbell in Division III, unbeaten after handing Plymouth its first loss on Friday, now the clear favorite for that state crown.

GIRLS LACROSSE – Unbeaten Bishop Guertin again is rolling, the favorite, having shown its strength in and out of state, but Nashua South and Souhegan will hope for spots in the semis in Division I. Hollis Brookline (9-2) is right up there in Division II, while Campbell is enjoying its best season (8-3) in the top five in Division III.

BOYS TENNIS – After an 0-2 start, Nashua South hasn’t lost since and is clearly the best local in Division I, hoping for a trip to the finals. Bishop Guertin, though, is right there along with the Panthers, also with just two losses. What a great postseason matchup that would be, although the Panthers won decisively last month in the April chill.

Souhegan looked like it would contend in Division II with a 5-0 start, but the Sabers are now only 6-5. We’ll see.

GIRLS TENNIS – It’s not a good year in Division I locally, but watch out for both Souhegan and Alvirne in Division II, both 9-1 at last look. They meet on Thursday.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL – It’s a down year for the locals – except for Hollis Brookline, hoping for a top four finish and currently at 7-2.

BOYS TRACK – These are tough calls but locally you’d have to think the Nashua teams will make noise in the state meet (North is defending champ), and take a close look at Souhegan in Division II. The Sabers are putting up points galore in a lot of meets, and Milford may be a real threat too.

GIRLS TRACK – It should be quite a battle between Nashua North and South near the top in the Division I meet. Can’t count out Milford, again.

Two weeks to go, should be fun.
