HS Roundup: Milford wins first, BG tops Keene; 300th win for Cameron

There were some big high school wins locally on another manic Monday.

The Milford baseball team picked up its first win of the season, while the Cards won their third straight.

In boys lacrosse, Guertin gave coach Chris Cameron his 300th career win, while Campbell remained unbeaten with a big triumph over Laconia on the road.

Here are all the details:

BASEBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 8, KEENE 1

The Cardinals (8-5) grab their third consecutive win by defeating the Blackbirds. Jake Boudreau got the win allowing one run on six hits in six innings. BG was led offensively by Evan Kaplo (double, homerun, two runs, two RBIs), Kam Thibault (two run homerun), Luke Anderson (two hits, run), Brandon Metivier (two hits, run, RBI) and Dante Nieto (two hits, double, RBI). BG hosts Pinkerton on Wednesday.

WINNACUNNET 6, NASHUA NORTH 2

The Titans suffered their fifth straight loss, falling to the 8-4 Warriors at Holman Stadium, site of the Warriors loss in last year’s Division I title game.

North (6-6) looks to get back on the winning track Wednesday at Manchester Central-West.

ALVIRNE 4, SALEM 3

The Broncos (4-9) run continues with their fourth straight win. Logan Casey (hit, three RBIs), Ethan Moccia (run), Braden Simard (hit, run, RBI) and Jake Dufour (hit) played well in the batter’s box. Ty Bake pitched six and two-thirds innings allowing seven hits, three runs and struck out four. Alvirne visits Timberlane on Friday.

MILFORD 6, PEMBROKE 0

Damian Philbrick allowed two hits and struck out nine in seven innings to lead the Spartans (1-8) to their first win of the season. Philbrick, Logan Howard and Chris Bedard had multiple hits. Milford visits Laconia on Wednesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 10, KINGSWOOD 1

The Cavaliers (9-0) grab another decisive win on the road. Jack Lager pitched five innings, allowing three hits, one run and struck out seven. Zak Lussier threw two innings in relief striking out three.

Paul Vachon had a triple and two RBIs, Aiden Dufoe tallied a double and a RBI and Charles Hale had two and a RBI. HB hosts Merrimack Valley on Wednesday.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUTH 5, HINSDALE 4

The Warriors evened their record at 5-5 thanks to two Hunter Scales RBIs, good defense and the pitching of Colby Collins and Troy Brennan.

WLC is at Portsmouth Christian on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 14, KEENE 4

The Cardinals improve their record to 7-5 after a dominant showing Monday afternoon. Meghan Davey pitched a complete game, allowing four run on six hits and striking out three. Davey also added to the offense with a hit and two RBIs.

Kennedy FitzSimons and Meara McDevitt led the locals at the plate with three hits apiece. BG visits Pinkerton on Wednesday.

WINNACUNNET 15, NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans (0-9) struggles continue with their third shutout loss in a row. North hosts Nashua South tonight at Rivier University at 7 p.m. in the Battle of the Bridge.

LONDONDERRY 13, NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Panthers drop their third straight contest and their record drops to 1-8 in the process. South visits Nashua North on Tuesday.

KINGSWOOD 10, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 9

The Cavaliers (6-2) win streak ends at three with a nine inning battle with Kingswood. Kailey disco pitched three innings with six strikeouts and also hit a triple and a single with a RBI. Austyn Kump pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts and had a RBI single (strike out total 233).

Emily Tebbetts had two RBIs. Savannah Duquette had two RBIs and a triple. Ava Imbrogno, Abigail Guay and Emily Sartell each had a single. Megan Park added two RBIs. HB visits Hanover on Tuesday.

STEVENS 16, SOUHEGAN 1

The Sabers (1-8) drought continues after losing their seventh game in a row. Souhegan visits Pembroke on Wednesday.

PEMBROKE 8, MILFORD 1

The Spartans fall to 3-6 after losing their third game in a row. Milford visits Laconia on Wednesday.

BOYS LACROSSE

BISHOP GUERTIN 15, BEDFORD 7

The Cardinals pulled away in a 4-4 game to move to 10-1 on the season thanks to five goals by Brady Dumont and four each from Connor Bouvier and Quinn Cepiel. Connor Bouvier also was among the goal scorers for the Cards, who host Nashua South on Thursday at Stellos.

NASHUA SOUTH 7, TIMBERLANE 5

The Panthers (10-1) win their eighth straight when they visited the Owls. Griffin Johnson and Connor Rowsell (assist) scored two goals apiece.

Nate Campbell (assist), Mike Rutstein and Rhett Medling each had one goal with Ryan Salemi adding an assist.

Ethan Johnson made 15 saves in net. South visits Exeter on Tuesday.

CAMPBELL 12, LACONIA 4

Jack Noury, Brendan Bochi were among the scorers for Campbell in a big win over Laconia.

The Cougars (9-0) jumped out to a 7-2 halftime lead and never looked back. They host Milford on Wednesday.

GILFORD 12, MILFORD 8

Jack Seale had a hat trick and an assist in the Spartans (2-6) loss on Monday. Logan Barnhill (two goals), Kaleb Francouer (two goals), Andrew Herner (goal) and Braydon Atwood (goal) played well for the locals.

James Brew collected 13 saves in net while Luca DeRosa and Tyler Descoteaux led the defense. Milford visits Campbell on Wednesday.

GIRLS LACROSSE

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 16, TIMBERLANE 5

Ireland Stark (two assists) and Paige Mello (assist) each found the back of the net four times in the Cavaliers (8-2) win. Alyssa Hill (four assists) scored three goals, Abbie Ogren (assist) had two goals with Sabrina Hill (two assists) and Cailean Roy (assist) scoring one goal apiece.

Nicole Heiter and Hallie Bardani (10 saves) led the defense. HB visits ConVal on Thursday.

CONVAL 15, ALVIRNE 2

The Broncos (0-8) continue to see their first win after a big loss on the road. Halle Miller and Maddy Nicolosi scored for the locals with Alexa Kruger collecting 16 saves. Alvirne hosts John Stark on Tuesday.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

WINDHAM 3, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals (2-7) lose by the scores of 11-25, 10-25, 18-25. Trent Rider had eight kills, an ace and a block. BG visits Timberlane on Wednesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, WINNACUNNET 0

The Cavaliers (7-1) notch their fourth straight win by sweeping the Warriors 25-12, 25-16, 25-22. Aidan Norris (12 kills, three aces), John Sommer (nine kills), Luke Laborde (four aces, three blocks), Ethan Norris (21 assists, four blocks) and Dan Sattler (nine digs) led the way.

HB hosts Windham on Wednesday.

GIRLS TENNIS

NASHUA NORTH 5, WINNACUNNET 4

The Panthers improved to 5-4, getting much needed wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles after the teams split singles.

At No. 2, Sanya Rane and Caitlyn Mamos won 8-6 and the No. 3 tandem of Mary Pappas/Claire Desrosiers triumphed 8-4.

Pappas (8-0), Rane (8-0) and Caitlyn Mamos (8-6) all won in singles for North, which visits Concord today.

NASHUA SOUTH 9, LONDONDERRY 0

The Panthers (3-7) have now won three of their last four matches and two straight. Winners included Margaret Wagner (8-0), Abby Finchum (8-2), Krisha Dani (8-2), Jenna Lecklider (8-0), Samitha Nadella (8-0) and Daya Bhatnagar (8-2).

The teams of Wagner/Finchum (8-2), Dani/Lecklider (8-2) and Nadella/Bhatnagar (8-3) completed the sweep. South hosts Merrimack on Wednesday.

HOLIS BROOKLINE 9, PEMBROKE 0

The Cavaliers evened their record at 5-5x with an impressive sweep of the Spartans.

Winners included Keira Swart (8-0), Abby Coolidge (8-6), Katie Bauer (8-0), Mikayla Coolidge (8-2), Annalise Walle (8-3) and Peyton Arbogast (8-1).

Swart/Bauer (8-2), Coolidge/Coolidge (8-1) and Arbogast/Sophia Warren (8-4) completed the sweep.

HB is at Timberlane on Wednesday.

AlVIRNE 6, BISHOP BRADY 3

The Broncos are slicing their way through Division II, now 8-1 after winning five of six singles to clinch the match in Concord.

Winners included Natalie MacSweeney (8-3), Gabbi Cummins (8-4), Kenzie Legg (8-4), Lindsay Gasdia (8-1) and Marissa Murphy (8-2) in singles, and the doubles team of Cummins/Legg (8-5).

The Broncos host Milford today.

BOYS TENNIS

NASHUA SOUTH 8, LONDONDERRY 1

The Panthers won their seventh straight match, taking five of six singles and sweeping doubles.

Atul Phadke (8-0), Akhil Kammila (8-1), Kaushik Tadipathri (8-0), Mihir Bhalla (8-4) and Shreenath Mohan (8-1) won at Nos. 2 through 6 singles.

Santiago Somorrostro/Phadke (8-0), Kammila/Tadipathri (8-3) and Bhalla/Mohan (8-1) all cruised in doubles.

The Panthers (7-2) now visit Merrimack on Wednesday.

LEBANON 8, SOUHEGAN 1

The Sabers (5-4) are in a slump, having lost their fourth straight after starting out 5-0.

Josh Goddard picked up their only win at No. 2 singles, 8-4. Souhegan visits Windham on Wednesday.
