Break up the Titans.

The Nashua High School North boys tennis team made the most of three home matches in four days to start the season, winning them all, capped off by Thursday’s 5-4 nailbiter over local rival Alvirne.

North is now 3-0, having beaten Spaulding and Merrimack earlier this week. Contrast that with tough starts in girls tennis for Bishop Guertin and Nashua South after losses Thursday. Souhegan was the lone girls winner.

Here’s a look at Thursday’s results, plus an earlier track meet and info on a big girls lacrosse preseason jamboree at Hollis Brookline on Sunday:

BOYS TENNIS

NASHUA NORTH 5, ALVIRNE 4

The Titans needed to get wins away from the top two ladder spots and Alvirne’s dominant Meuse brothers, and they did just that, taking three of the next four singles matches to even things up. Then they took wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to stay unbeaten.

Winning those doubles matches were Jason Pecarraro and Shikar Gupta at No. 2, 8-5, and Jack Desjardin/Narvein Sribalaran, 8-4 at No. 3.

The Broncos’ Peyton and Ashton Meuse won their matches 8-0 at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, and Calem Lambert won at No. 4, 8-4.

North’s singles wins were by Pecarraro at No. 3, 8-1, Desjardin at No. 5, 8-0 and Sribalaran at No. 6, 8-3.

North is off until next Wednesday when it travels to Hanover. The Broncos (0-2) host Pinkerton on Monday.

GIRLS TENNIS

DOVER 9, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

It’s a different season for sure for the Cardinals, who are now 0-3 after completing the first week of their season.

BG got good play between Laura Bucci at No. 1 singles, Alexa Psederis at No. 3 and Amelia Delarosa at No. 5, but they managed to win just one game between them. The Cards are at Salem on Monday.

MANCHCHESTER CENTRAL 8, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers almost salvaged a win at No. 3 doubles, as junior Samitha Nadella and freshman Diya Bhatnager had things even at 5-all, but rain halted the match.

Now 0-2, South will host Hanover on Monday. Central is now 3-0 on the season.

SOUHEGAN 9, KINGSWOOD 0

The Sabers made the most of a road trip to Wolfeboro with a clean sweep. Singles winners were Maddie Daniel, Caroline Drum, Mishka Tower, Tylee Jancar, Keelin Llewyn and Amelia Wysor.

Daniel-Tower, Jancar-Drum and Tess Jancar-Amanda Leary all triumped.

The Sabers host rival Milford on Monday.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

MERRIMACK THIRD

Merrimack (56) finished third in a recent season-opening marathon (nearly five hours) tri-meet with Concord (126) and second place Alvirne.

Kailey Dillon and freshman Lexi Best each scored 12 points. Dillon won the long jump, was second in the 110 meter hurdles, and was fourth in the high jump.

Best was a double-winner, winning both the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while sophomore Mia Getchell took the shot put.

Also for the Tomahawks, Ella Fng was second in the javelin, Lily Anderson was second in the shot put, and Alex Therrien took second in the 3200 meter run.
