HS Hockey Roundup: Warriors win again; Alvirne-Milford on top

The ‘W’ in Warriors stands for winning.

It seems that way this season, as the Hollis Brookline-Derryfield Warriors hockey team captured their ninth win in their last 10 games Wednesday.

Also, Alvirne-Milford recorded its second win of the season that is in its final week. Bishop Guertin fell to Concord, Merrimack fell to Keene, and the Souhegan girls team had another tough trip to the Upper Valley.

Here’s how the pucks dropped:

BOYS HOCKEY

HOLLIS BROOKLINE-DERRYFIELD 6,

MONADNOCK 0

The Warriors (13-3) knock down their fourth straight win after a shutout against Monadnock. Paul Vachon led the way with two goals and one assist, Tate Flint chipped in with two goals with Jesse Gertz and Kyle Sanborn each adding a goal and an assist.

Jacob Roy tallied three assists, Aidan Rowe had two assists; while Torin White, Jack Lager and Bryson Giersch each had one assist. Cavan Quinn stopped 13 shots between the pipes. HBDS visits Laconia on Saturday.

CONCORD 4,

BISHOP GUERTIN 1

The Cardinals (8-7-2) winning streak ends at five after their loss to Concord. Cam Avery scored the lone goal of the game for the locals.

BG visits Trinity at JFK Coliseum on Saturday in the regular season finale.

KEENE 6,

MERRIMACK 5

The Tomahawks finish the regular season at an even 9-9 after their loss to Keene on Wednesday. Eliot Medlock scored two goals while teammates Conor Dunn (one assist), Brayden Guagliumi and Sam Giles each tallied one.

ALVIRNE-MILFORD 5,

TIMBERLANE 3

Alvirne-Milford (2-13-1) picked up a win against the Owls on their home ice. Sal Pace recorded a hat trick with Braydon Atwood and Cade Bouchard tallying one goal apiece. Matt Ryan collected three assists and Ayden Ricard had one assist.

Alvirne-Milford hosts Nashua South-Pelham on Saturday night at Skate 3 in the final game of the season for both.

GIRLS HOCKEY

LEBANON 8,

SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers end their season with a 1-17 record after a shutout loss to Lebanon.
