HS Roundup: South, Milford boys soccer finish unbeaten

Unbeaten and on top of their leagues.

For the first time in recent memory, two local soccer teams finished the regular season without losing a game, as the Nashua South and Milford boys finished atop their divisions at 15-0-1.

South and Milford took care of business with wins Thursday in their regular season finales. The Bishop Guertin girls are also the No. 1 seed in Division I as the Cards wrapped up their regular season Wednesday at 14-1-1.

Here’s the rundown on one of the final days of the local soccer regular season:

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 4,

MERRIMACK 0

The Panthers close out the season on a high note winning their sixth game in a row. Jadiel Bomfim, Joona Hantula, Santi Somorrostro and Max Lopez led South in the scoring column. Leo Kopicko played great in net securing the shutout.

South will enter the post season as the Division I boys soccer No. 1 seed as a result of a 15-0-1 record. Merrimack ends the season with a record of 4-12.

MILFORD 6,

PLYMOUTH 0

Goran Skoric and Bernard Glusac scored two goals apiece to lead the Spartans to a win as they close out the regular season. Conor Sullivan and Aden Cremonini added to the scoring tally with one each.

Milford finishes the season as the Division II top seed with a record of — what else — 15-0-1.

MANCHESTER CENTRAL 1,

NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans end their regular season with a 7-9 mark after a shutout loss.

BEDFORD 1,

BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals lose their sixth consecutive game in a shutout to the Bulldogs. BG ends the season with a 3-13 record.

CAMPBELL 4,

RAYMOND 1

The Cougars finish up the season with a home win Thursday. Conor Donahey scored two goals; while Eric Coates and Jack Larose (first career goal) rounded out the scoring. Campbell ends the season with a record of 13-2-1.

GIRLS SOCCER

MERRIMACK 2,

NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Tomahawks bested the Panthers (6-7-2) on the road to take a close win at Stellos Stadium.

Merrimack’s Alex Therrien and Jill Dorf were the scorers with Lucy Cote adding an assist. Molly Perkins made six saves in net.

Merrimack ends the season at 7-8-1 and South will visit Hanover on Saturday for their final regular season contest.

LONDONDERRY 4,

ALVIRNE 1

The Broncos five game winning streak comes to end on the final regular season game. Hannah Sellingham scored off a long throw in assist from Jaime O’Connor. Lyla Davis and Alyssa Scharn played well for the locals.

Alvirne finishes with a 8-5-3 mark.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 4,

OYSTER RIVER 0

The Cavs end the regular season on an eight game win streak and improve their record to 11-4-1 in Division II. Sofia Walle, Rachel Brackett (one assist), McKenna Maguire (one assist) and Lily Bouchard (one assist) each found the back of the net in a shutout win.

Walle, Brackett, Sophie Warren (one assist), Maggie Crooks, Amanda Robbins, Abbie Ogren, Bella Balsama, Catherine McDonough, Nicole Heiter and Peyton Arbogast were honored as part of Senior Night.
