Thursday Night Football.

Hey, it’s become an American tradition, right? So why not on the high school level? Here’s a capsule look at tonight’s Nashua North-Pinkerton matchup:

DIVISION I

NASHUA NORTH (3-4) at PINKERTON

WHEN: Thursday, 7 p.m.

WHERE: Pinkerton Academy’s Alumni Field in Derry.

LAST WEEK: Salem 35, Nashua orth 28; Pinkerton 22, Bishop Guertin 12.

LAST YEAR: Did not play.

FYI: Why Thursday night? Pinkerton scheduled a prom for Friday, trying to get some of those events in with the pandemic still lurking. North will be trying to snap a four-game losing streak, relying on Derek Finlay, Jack Peters and Jordyn Raisanen-Andino, the latter who had a breakout game last week, to try to penetrate the Astros’ defense. Pinkerton has had a lot of injury woes and will likely be without three starters, two of them offensive linemen, after last Saturday’s slugfest vs. BG. That means a lot of Cole Yennaco running to try to open things up.
