Alvirne’s Noah LeClair is just about where he wants to be in his drive for a Division II state individual golf championship.

The Bronco junior shot an even par 72 at Rochester Country Club, and is tied with Trinity’s Sam Maurice for the top spot going into Saturday’s final round as things shift to Concord’s Beaver Meadow.

It’s crowded field near the top. Carlos Gurnard of St. Thomas is one shot back with a one-over 73, while Oyster River’s Josh Phillips is two back at 74 and Kennett’s Ben Dougherty three back at 75.

“A score of even par for the day will help him in his quest for a state championship,” Alvirne coach Sy Tebbetts said. “The field is very strong.”

LeClair was two-under for a while and then finished at even par. Under-par was the top score most of the day.

As for teams, Bedford captured the Division I title in Hollis at Overlook Golf Club, six shots ahead of second place Exeter, 388-394. Concord was third at 396.

In Division II, Oyster River took the crown, at 389 nine shots ahead of runnerup Windham (38) and 13 past Winnacunnet (402).

The only complete local team in Thursday’s golf tournaments was Bishop Guertin, which finished exactly as the Cards’ seed going in – 10th. Their 437 total was 13 shots behind ninth place Hanover.

Dean Liakos shot an 84 to lead the Cards, while Connor Bouvier had an 85 and Jacob Caron 87.

No locals qualified for the individual Division I tournament, which now also shifts to Beaver Meadow on Saturday with Exeter’s Jascha Johnston and Will Ducharme, plus Keene’s Kyle Foster, deadlocked at 73 atop the leader board.

Merrimack’s Connor Patch led all locals with an 81, while after the Cards’ top three, Nashua South’s Joey Lizzie shot an 89.

LeClair is the only local left in the Division II individual field, as the others missed the cut. Souhegan’s Matt Canavan was the next best local behind LeClair with an 11-over 83. Hollis Brookline’s Reid Mitchell shot an 86.
