The Milford High School boys soccer team has passed a few tests this season to remain unbeaten, not the least of which was Wednesday’s one-goal win over fellow Division II contender Lebanon.

Also Wednesday, Nashua North and South girls volleyball teams continued their climb with wins after slow starts to the season, while Hollis Brookline won its ninth straight. The Cavs field hockey team suffered a heartbreaking loss, however.

Here are Wednesday’s results:

BOYS SOCCER

MILFORD 2,

LEBANON 1

Ryon Constable and Colin Gregg scored as the Spartans remained unbeaten (12-0-1) while Lebanon fell to 11-2.

Milford visits John Stark on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY

DERRYFIELD 2,

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1 (OT)

The Cavs fell thanks to a penalty stroke by the Cougars in overtime. Alyssa Hill scored with six minutes left off a feed from Hailey Arseneau, but Derryfield quickly answered to take the game into the extra session.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NASHUA SOUTH 3,

ALVIRNE 1

The Panthers got off to a good start, taking the first two sets (25-20, 25-18) before the Broncos won the third, 25-20. But South outlasted Alvirne in the fourth set, 28-26, to improve to 6-8.

Kellie Ryan led the way for South with 12 kills, five digs and four aces. Katie Garland (16 assists, eight kills, fur digs, four aces, two blocks) and Lauren Bernard (four kills) also helped out.

Alvirne fell to 5-9 and will try to snap a five-match skid at home vs. Keene on Friday. South hosts Manchester Central on Fridy as well.

NASHUA NORTH 3,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0

The Titans may be finding their groove, as they took their fourth straight with a 25-15, 25-6, 25-4 sweep.

Sasha Riabova led the way with 12 kills and eight aces while Mardy Novak (seven kills, eight assists, two aces), Kelsey Laliberte (seven aces, four kills) and Mina Regner (five aces, 10 digs) also sparked the win.

North (6-8) hosts Dover tonight.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3,

PORTSMOUTH 0

The Cavaliers continued their winning ways with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-12 sweep of the Clippers to move to 13-1.

Annette Schlunk and Cheyene Colbert led the way with 13 kills each, while Lydia Daskalos (seven kills, one block), Sophia Jordan (three assists, four aces) and Maia Schneider (14 digs) also helped out.

All proceeds from Wednesday’s varsity and JV matches were donated to the Kendall Charles Van Schoick scholarship fund.
