That Cavalier attitude: HB in girls tennis finals; Kump twirls no-no

By Tom King - Staff Writer | Jun 3, 2021

Ah, nothing like that Cavalier attitude.

It was quite a day Wednesday for Hollis Brookline High School teams.

First, finals, here they come: the Hollis Brookline High School girls tennis team will play for the Division II title on Friday at 3 p.m. at Bedford High School courts vs. Windham.

The Cavaliers downed Bishop Brady, 6-3, in the Division II semifinals on Wednesday, while the Jaguars topped Portsmouth 6-3 in the other semifinal.

“They’re super excited to the challenges ahead in the finals,” HB coach Dalia Paradie said. “These wins are particularly sweet since the girls team has not advanced to playoff championships in a long time.”

Second, how about a no-hitter? That’s what the Cavs Austyn Kump tossed one at Pelham in the Division II prelims.

As we said, it was a good day for HB as the boys and girls lacrosse teams also advanced.

The Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team also moved to the semifinals with a one-sided win over Nashua North, and the Campbell girls softball team also was dominant.

Here’s all the good news for the local teams:
