HS Roundup: Cards win big at Exeter; Alvirne nine on top

It was a manic Monday in local high school sports.
First, in a highly anticipated battle of boys lacrosse unbeatens, the Bishop Guertin Cardinals recovered from a slow start to dominate Exter at Bill Ball Stadium. The Alvirne and Guertin baseball teams played long ball in Hudson, and the schools’ tennis teams split. It’s all here:
BASEBALL
ALVIRNE 8,
BISHOP GUERTIN 4
Kyle Boulanger hit a massive three run homer to help the Broncos (5-2) take control. Jake Dufour (one run, one RBI) and Evan Beals (one hit, RBI) made key contributions to the win.
Nick Jacques came out with the win pitching seven innings, giving up seven hits, four runs and struck out five.
BG was led offensively by Jake Mitchell (run), Kyle Lavigne (run) and Dominic Monico who hit a three run homer as well.
Alvirne and BG meet up in Nashua on Friday.
PINKERTON 6,
NASHUA NORTH 2
The Titans drop to 4-4 after their loss to the Astros. All runs were scored in the first two innings by both teams.
Travis Holbrook had two RBIs, while Derek Finlay, Ryan Bourgeois and Andy Barry had one hit apiece.
North hosts Timberlane on Tuesday.

The Panthers managed just three hits against Lancers complete game pitcher Michael Crowley to fall to 2-5.
Londonderry’s Liam Stott went 3 for 3. The two teams tangle again Wednesday in Londonderry.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 1
The Warriors offense continues to struggle in their loss to Monadnock as Monadnock pitching recorded 17 strikeouts.
Sean Brennan hit a double that brought home Troy Brennan for the Warriors’ lone run. WLC hosts Monadnock on Wednesday.
SOFTBALL
LONDONDERRY 6,
NASHUA SOUTH 0
The Panthers (1-6) fell behind early resulting in a shutout loss to the Lancers. Audra Robinson (double) and Lizzie DeRusha collected one hit each. Natalie Ward took the loss pitching six innings, allowing six runs on six hits, while striking out 12.
South will host Londonderry on Wednesday.

NASHUA NORTH 8
North 8, Pinkerton 21
Pinkerton came out scoring 14 runs in the first three innings. North came back in the fourth to score 6 runs beginning with MacKenzie Tanner, who got hit by a pitch and followed by Cailin Carbonneau and Riley Brady who both had base clearing triples.
MacKenzie Brady came up shortly after with a hard hit single followed by Aaralyn Lopez who got on after being hit by a pitch. Hard hit singles/RBIs to continue the rally came from Samantha Small and Tylea Wong.
Aaralyn Lopez, Riley Brady, MacKenzie Tanner and Cailin Carbonneau all played an fantastic defense for the Titans.
BOYS LACROSSE
BISHOP GUERTIN 21,
EXETER 8
The Cardinals (7-0) notched their seventh straight win by defeating Exeter on the road in a battle of unbeatens, recovering from a 4-2 deficit after one quarter.
Dawson Clark (four goals, three assists) led the score sheet with seven points. Jon Krikorian (three assists) scored three goals; while John Sullivan, Connor Bouvier (two assists), Declan Wilkie (one assist), Connor Guibord and Brady Dumont each found the back of the net twice.
Wrapping up the scoring was Michael Kiely (one assist), Tim Kiely (one assist), Xander Dunsmoor (two assists), Aiden Laurendeau and Chris Heirmiller had one goal each.
The two teams see each other again Friday at 3 p.m. at Stellos Stadium.
MERRIMACK 9,
NASHUA NORTH 7
The Tomahawks (3-4) inched by the Titans (1-6) as Matthew Todd scored two goals with three assists to lead the offense.
Kyle Dunn, Declan Covell, Dan Best and Jason Hostler scored one goal each and Shea Goodwin scored twice.
North’s Jack Peters and Jayden Montgomery found the back of the net twice. Alec Jenkerson, Aden Ahmed and Robert Cannaway scored once apiece. Goalie Devyn Lavoie made 12 saves. Merrimack visits Bedford on Thursday and North hosts Pinkerton tonight.
GIRLS LACROSSE
BISHOP GUERTIN 20,

Maddy Keating (two goals, one assist) recorded her 100th point – the third Cardinal to do that this season – in unbeaten BG’s (6-0) win at Stellos Stadium.
Rylee Bouvier scored four goals, while Steph Reap (three assists) and Mimi Piercy (one assist) each scored three goals.
Tess Prunier had two goals (one assist) with Nat Coutu (three assists),
Lindsay Hult (one assist), Katie Campel, Lauren Redfern, Kate Simpson and Tannah O’neil Blake each scored one goal.
BG travels to Pinkerton on Wednesday.
NASHUA SOUTH 20,
ALVIRNE 3
The Panthers (5-1) saw 10 players hit the scoring column in their dominant win against the Broncos. Leading the way was Kaitlyn West with five goals, Olivia Johnson (three goals, one assist), Ella Benzekri (three goals), Maddy Matelewski and Soleil Dubois each had two goals and an assist.
Bella Walsh had one goal and three assists, while Jenna Hamelin, Morgan Preston, Cate Harrington and Katie Garland each added a goal.
Kylie Dawe had five ground balls and four draw controls. Alvirne’s Halle Miller (one goal, one assist), Erin Baker (one goal), Maddie Nicholosi (one goal) and Zaira O’Leary (11 saves) played well in the loss.
South plays Londonderry today at Stellos and Alvirne visits Nashua North on Wednesday.

The Titans (6-1) were upended by the Astros for their first loss of the season. Lily Brooks scored the lone goal and Samantha Canto made four saves in net. North hosts Alvirne on Wednesday.

The Broncos hold on for a nail biter victory against the Cardinals. Alvirne winners were Peyton Meuse (8-0), Ashton Meuse (8-0) and John Rudy (8-5) in singles. Doubles winners were Meuse/Meuse (8-1) and Tom Bondaruk/Charlie Thomas (8-5). Winning in singles for BG were Dean Liakos (8-5), Ryan Wallat (8-1) and Rizvan Bhattarai (8-1). The team of Wallat/Bhattarai won 8-3 in doubles competition.
Alvirne and BG meet up again on Wednesday in Nashua.

The Panthers (4-2) shutout the Lancers and win their fourth straight contest. Singles winners were Margaret Wagner (8-3), Priya Shokeen (8-1), Abby Finchum (8-5), Kat Tsao (8-6), Krisha Dani (8-0) and Jenna Lecklider (8-0). Doubles winners were the teams of Wagner/Shokeen (8-2), Finchum/Tsao (8-5) and Dani/Lecklider (8-0).
South travels to Londonderry on Wednesday.

The Titans drop a tough matchup, with Caitlyn Mamos (9-8) getting the lone win. North visits Pinkerton on Wednesday.

The Cardinals swept the Broncos on Monday . Winning their matches were Katelyn Nichols (8-1), Hannah Gilbertson (8-1), Natalie Macsweeney (8-2), Laura Bucci (8-6), Sophia Sears (9-7) and Abbey Linskey (8-0).
Doubles winners were Nichols/Gilbertson (8-1), Macsweeney/Bucci (8-5) and Alexa Pesiridis/Hailey Barker (8-3).
BG and Alvirne meet again in Hudson on Wednesday.
SOUHEGAN 6,
MILFORD 3
The Sabers outdid the Spartans with a road win. Winning for Milford were Grace Carpenter (8-1) and Adriana George (8-4). Carpenter and George won 8-4 in their doubles match. Souhegan hosts Sanborn on Wednesday and Milford visits Manchester West on Wednesday.

KEENE 3
The Tomahawks (2-5) got a long awaited win by taking down the Blackbirds on Monday.
Shu Grosso (8-1), Vitalia Brock (8-2), Colette Hutchinson (8-5) and Jordan Zebuhr (8-4) won in singles. The team of Grosso/Sarah Hardy (8-1) and Brock/Hutchinson (8-3) won their doubles matchup.
Merrimack visits Keene on Wednesday.
