North, South, HB, Campbell all post girls volleyball wins

The good times keep coming for the Nashua High School North girls volleyball team.

The Titans remained unbeaten (4-0) with their second win over Bishop Guertin in three nights, this won a 3-0 triumph Wednesday by set scores of 25-13, 27-25, 25-20.

It was a productive night for Sasha Riabova (12 assists, two aces, five digs), Mardy Novak (six kills, eight assists, four digs), Alyssa Stanton (seven kills) and Jamie Parker (10 digs).

Guertin, which lost to the Titans in five sets on Monday, fell to 2-4. Maddy Keating (four aces, eight kills, seven digs), Julia Foster (14 assists) and Emma Charron (12 digs) played well for the Cardinals.

North hosts Alvirne next Tuesday while the Cards are at Lawrence Central Catholic on Saturday.

NASHUA SOUTH 3,

ALVIRNE 1

The visiting Panthers (2-5) are climbing back after a slow start with their second straight win, this time by set scores of

25-17, 16-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Alexis Farrell (nine kills, five blocks),

Natalie Boyle (seven kills, two aces), Kellie Ryan (five kills, five digs) and Anne Sherman (23 assists) led the Panther win.

South is now off until it visits Merrimack Oct. 16. Alvirne, now 3-2, takes on Hollis Brookline on Friday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3,

MERRIMACK 0

The visiting Cavaliers improved to 4-0 with set wins of 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.

Hanna Close (eight kills), Meaghan Coutu (six kills, three aces), Angelina Leonard (five aces, 21 assists), Emily Sartell (four aces, seven digs), Jessica Cooper (three aces, five digs) and Annette Schlunk (three aces) paced the Cavalier attack.

Merrimack (0-4) hosts Salem Friday while HB welcomes Alvirne.

CAMPBELL 3,

MASCENIC 1

The Cougars (3-3) got some revenge after losing to the Vikings three times last year, including the Division III semis, via set scores of 25-15, 15-25, 25-21 and 25-13.

Chloe Stiniger (four aces, seven kills, seven digs, one block and 18 assists) had a busy night for the winners. Elayna Montenero (three aces, one kills, 15 digs) and Kristina Castellano (four kills, four digs) also helped out.

Campbell is at Milford on Saturday.

FIELD HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 4,

NASHUA NORTH 0

It cleared up just in time at Stellos Stadium for the Cardinals to move to 2-1 thanks to a pair of goals by Taylor Guibord. Steph Coulombe and Rylee Bouvier added a goal each while Bouvier also had an assist.

Brooke Yabroudy had two assists while Lindsay Hult also had an assist.

North fell to 0-4.

MANCHESTER CENTRAL 1,

NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Little Green (4-3) scored the game’s lone goal with 10:36 left as the Panthers fell to 2-3-1 despite goalie Courtney Tello’s 25 saves.

Soleil Dubois, Lizzie DeRusha, Amy Marison, Morgan Preston and Kaitlyn West all played well for South, which takes on Bishop Guertin Monday at 10 a.m.at Stellos.
