High School Journal: Fans will be severely limited locally

Telegraph photo by TOM KING You won't see crowds like this at any Nashua North or South home games this fall thanks to the pandemic, as spectator numbers will be severely limited all throughout the area.

NASHUA – Want to see a local high school game this fall?

You better check with the home school’s spectator policy.

Schools are formalizing their policies all around the area, and many have been mentioned on this site in the past week.

Nashua, which starts games next week, has the following rules:

First, there will be no visiting team fans permitted at any of the district’s middle school or high school events this year.

That applies for North-South games as well. In other words, if North is the home team, only North fans can attend. This is also the rule for all the teams/schools Nashua North and South will travel to. 

Here are more of the basics:

Outdoor events

— 4 fans per participant for immediate family/parents/guardians only

— Stellos Stadium events will include tickets (free admission). Only those with tickets will be permitted.

— Masks must be worn at all times.

—- 6 ft distance between families must be maintained.

ALVIRNE POLICY

Meanwhile, Alvirne has also announced its policy:

The Broncos will not be allowing any visiting fans, and each student athlete of all fall sports will be given four tickets to give to family members to attend.

It’s going to be quite a week for North-South teams next week as they will square off in every sport, often twice.

Here’s a look:

Monday – North at South field hockey, 5 p.m. at Stellos Stadium; North at South girls volleyball, 6:30 p.m., Belanger Gym.

Tuesday – South vs. North boys and girls cross country, 4 p.m., Mines Falls; North at South golf, 4 p.m., Green Meadow; North at South girls soccer, 7 p.m., Stellos Stadium.

Wednesday – South at North field hockey, 3:30 p.m., Stellos Stadium; South at North girls volleyball, 6:30 p.m., Titans Gym.

Thursday – North at South boys soccer, 5 p.m., Stellos Stadium.

Friday – North at South football, 6:30 p.m.

Saturday – North vs. South boys and girls cross country, 10 a.m., Mines Falls; South at North girls soccer, 10 a.m., Stellos Stadium; South at North boys soccer, 2 p.m., Stellos Stadium.

Here are Wednesday’s local golf results:

NASHUA SOUTH FOURTH

The Panthers (238) trailed match winner host Exeter (184), Pinkerton (208) and Spaulding (222).

Steve Robbe fired a 42, followed by Grace Conrad and Cam Cole (47 each), and Josh Gao and Emma Kobs (52 each).

South is at Alvirne at Green Meadow today.

The Tomahawks were led at Manchester Country Club by Hunter Bailey’s 44, a 47 by Connor Patch and Cam Higham’s 49.

Bedford’s Brady Burke was the medalist with a 34 while Owen Roberto shot a 37.
