Cav golfers get off to good start, top Milford, Souhegan
AMHERST – The Hollis Brookline High School golf team picked up where it left off last season, capturing a tri-match with the area’s other two Division II teams.
The Cavaliers, defending Division II co-champions, recorded a teams score of 201 at Amherst Country Club. Milford was second at 237 followed by Souhegan at 294.
HB’s Garrett Sturgis was the match medalist with a 38 while Mata Dias, Cayden Plummer and Colin MacDonald each had a 40.
Milford was paced by Ryan Cavanaugh’s 44, while Jacob Dube had a 45, Landon Pierce a 48 and Brady Hanson, 49.
Souhegan was led by Liam Deselle’s 49, while Amanda Fulton chipped in with a 56.
ALVIRNE THIRD
The Broncos, in their second match of the season, finished third (231) behind Goffstown (227) and match winner Trinity (210) at Green Meadow.
However, Bronco Noah LeClair was the match medalist with a 33.
MERRIMACK FOURTH
The Tomahawks, in a match at Passaconaway, totaled 239, behind host Londonderry (219), Keene (215) and match winner Dover (203).
Hunter Bailey and Ryan Rezendes led the Tomahawks with a 47 each, while Pat Browning and Matt Licata each shot a 48 and Cam Higham a 49.
