HOOKSETT – The stars came out on Saturday night at Tri-Town Arena, with the idea to shine on the sport of New Hampshire high school girls hockey.

Kearsarge Regional’s Marissa Pickman and Windham’s Mia Langlois of Cushing Academy had a hat trick to lead Team Dunn/Mounsey past Team King/Flanagan, 8-3, in the first annual NHGA New Hampshire High School Girls Hockey Invitational All-Star Game.

“It was awesome, really fun,” said Bishop Guertin’s Jenna Lynch of Brookline, who plays juniors during the winter. “And it was really tiring, three 20 minute periods. It was a lot of work, but it was great. It was really nice to see a bunch of New Hampshire girls get together and show off their talent.”

“It was a lot different than what I’m used to,” Guertin senior Lindsay Hult said of the talent level. “It was fun. I challenged myself.”

Milford’s Maddie Debelis said “It was crazy, awesome to get together with all these girls.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew it would be a good experience to come in to, but it was better than I thought.”

Other goals for Team Dunn/Mounsey were by Lucie Legro and Julia Pellerin.

Team King/Flanagan was led by Berwick Academy’s Julia Cabral of Lee (two in the third period) and one by another Berwick player, Annelise Matthews of Exeter.

“I’ve never played in anything like that,” said recent Souhegan graduate Claire Woodford. “It was really nice to see competitive hockey, girls hockey.”
