It was one up and one down for the two Division II football teams that had to leave the area today for quarterfinal games. Here’s a look:

The visiting Cavaliers (8-2) jumped out to an early lead 21-0 after one quarter and were never headed, advancing to next Saturday’s semifinals at No. 1 Bow.

Sander Wimmer threw four TD passes for the Cavs, who led 35-13 at the half. Blake Bergerson had two TD receptions, as did Quinten Wimmer.

“We started fast, capitalized on their mistakes, and tackled very well on ‘D’ today,” HB coach Chris Lones said.

The 9-0 Falcons appeared to dominate the Sabers (5-4), who only managed a Nick Zampella 10-yard TD reception on the day.

“They shut down our offense and we couldn’t get things going,” Sabers coach Robin Bowkett said. “We sold out on the run and they did a great job finding our weak spots.

“We just got out-coached and outplayed today.”
