Hollis Brookline edges Merrimack wrestlers for seventh win

Hollis Brookline 37,

Merrimack 36

The Cavaliers improved to 7-1 on the season with a win over the Tomahawks (8-4). Securing pins for the Cavaliers were Troy Moscatelli (120), Dan Delong (126), Robbie Dwyer (152), Scott Anneser (160) and Andrew Wink (195).

Merrimack winners were Evan Torres (106), Mike Boutin (113), Joey Leblanc (132), Andy Almonte (138), Anson Dewar (145), Adam Presa (170) and Rick Toohey (heavyweight). Hollis Brookline and Merrimack will travel to Concord on Saturday for the Capitol City Classic.

Boys basketball

Pelham 72, Campbell 58

The Cougars (8-1) held a 39-35 lead at half time, only to lose their first game of the season.

Jonah Crema ended his night with a 25 point performance and Carter Vedrani added a solid 15 points. Campbell hosts Gilford on Friday.

Spaulding 61,

Bishop Guertin 40

The Cardinals (3-5) couldn’t keep pace with Spaulding leading to a loss.

Kyle Baker led Guertin with 10 points. Bishop Guertin hosts Nashua North on Friday.

Girls basketball

Pelham 63, Campbell 47

The Cougars (6-5) had a tough time trying to stop the hot handed Pythons Tuesday night.

Karleigh Schultz led the offensive unit with 15 points, Riley Gamache had nine points and Catherine Carrigan added eight points. Campbell visits Gilford on Friday.

Swimming

Nashua North

The Titan boys defeated South. Mario Rodriguez led off the night with a win in the 200 free and the 500 free.

Huber Chenard added a runner up in the 200 free and a victory in the 100 free. Murray Mahoney had a great night winning the 100 fly and 100 back.

Benjamin Klein won the 50 free and Sayan Ghose won the 200 IM.

The girls fell to South in their meet. Kat Juris won the 100 fly and 100 back. Ana Haight finished runner up on the 100 back and third in the 200 free.

Nashua South

The Panthers girls team defeated North. Lucina Yi won the 200 free and grabbed a runner up in the 50 free.

Hannah Swabowicz finished second in the 200 free and won the 50 free. Caroline Chea won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

The team of Payson Mooso, Evelyn Lee, Chea and Jace Wai won the 200 medley relay.

Haleigh Swabowicz, Chea, Yi and Hannah Swabowicz won the 200 free relay. Haleigh Swabowicz, Lee, Yi and Hannah Swabowicz won the 400 free relay.

The boys fell to North. Jason Lam won the 100 breaststroke and finished second in the 200 free.

Ben Telerski placed third in the 100 breaststroke and 100 free.

Nicholas NG, Asher Thomas, Caden Hedquist and Lam triunphed in the 200 free relay.
