Milford scores six in the seventh, but is eliminated by Coe-Brown
Coe-Brown 9, Milford 7
The Spartans came up just short of an upset, as the team rallied to put across six runs in the seventh inning before ultimately falling to the top seed Coe-Brown squad.
Offensively, Carley Holtshouser was 2 for 4 and Jen Carson was 1 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs. Jen Dupuis was 1 for 4 with a grand slam in the seventh inning. Erin Tyrrell was 2 for 4 with a double.
Delaney Parker started for Milford and pitched the first three and a third innings, while Tyrell came in as relief and ended the game.
Coach Jim Rines stressed fundamentals all year long and he believes fundamentals cost Milford at the end,“ We started out the year by saying that we needed to catch and throw the ball, and at the end we did not catch and throw the ball.”
