Merrimack Tops Alvirne in Extras

The Tomahawks and Broncos needed an extra two innings to decide the outcome of their game, with Merrimack coming out on top, 5-3.

Alexis Kapsambelis led the Merrimack offense with four hits, including three RBIs. Catlin Minear also had a standout game offensively, compiling two hits and two RBIs, including the eventual game-winner. Minear also had an outstanding game on the mound, pitching all nine innings. She allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Kera Kelley got the start for Alvirne, also pitching all nine innings. She allowed only three earned runs. Kaycee Carbone had a standout game defensively for the Broncos.
