Cougars Squeeze by Bow in Game One of Doubleheader

By Staff | May 31, 2014

The Cougars had a long day of baseball, starting with a ten o’clock game in Bow. The Cougars capitalized on some smart base running to win the game, 5-4.

Tied at four late in the ballgame, junior Zach Byers stood on second base with two outs. A groundball was hit right to the opposing shortstop, who made an error after Byers strategically hesitated in front of the player. The catcher scored the eventual game-winning run on the play.

Bob Baril led the offense with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Matt Gagne added two hits and Kyle Manning added two RBIs.

Ryan Glendye earned the win for Campbell, his fourth of the season. He pitched all seven innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and one walk. He also struck out five.
