Campbell Boys Finish Fifth, Girls Eighth at DIII Championship

The Campbell boys finished in fifth place among 27 teams at the Division III Track and Field Championships in Meredith. Kearsarge finished as the champion with 73 points while the Cougars compiled a respectable 41.5 points.

Sean Munnelly led Campbell with a victory in the 800-meter run and a second-place finish in the 1600-meter run. A trio of Cougars scored points for their team in the pole vault competition: Keegan Tanguay (first-place), Quentin Bazarnicki (second-place) and Kian Fuertes (sixth-place). Teammate Ryan Perigny also finished in sixth in the 400-meter dash.

The Cougars got additional points from the 400-meter relay team, which consists of Munnelly, Sam Munnelly, Markus Rothacker and Harry Lee.

The Wilton-Lyndeborough boys finished in 23rd. Adam Teger got the Warriors on the board with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash.

The Campbell girls finished in eighth place with 23 points. Monadnock won the competition with 99 points.

Savannah Cavanaugh earned the Cougars 12 points with third-place finishes in the 100 and 200-meter dash. Teammates Alissa Picard and Madison Roy also scored for Campbell, tying for sixth-place in the 200-meter dash.

The Cougar’s 100-meter relay team (Cavanaugh, Picard, Caitlin Heaton and Savannah Reinitzer) and 400-meter relay team (Cavanaugh, Roy, Reinitzer and Jamie Minervini) finished in second and fifth, respectively.
