BOSTON – The Boston Celtics on Wednesday announced their schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 regular season, and will open up at TD Garden vs. the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

This season, the team and league will honor the life and legacy of Hall of Famer Bill Russell through a variety of celebrations. Beginning on October 18 the Celtics will host the first of two dedicated Bill Russell tribute games celebrating the Celtics legend with a series of special activities.

That night, the Celtics will unveil a special Bill Russell tribute 2022-23 City Edition uniform – a project that the league and team had been collaborating on with Russell himself in recent years – which they will wear a total of 12 times this season (six at home and six on the road). The Celtics will host the second tribute night on February 12, Russell’s birthday, against the Memphis Grizzlies.

To view the entire scheduled, go to bostonceltics.com or nba.com.

The Celtics, coming off of their first trip to the NBA Finals since 2010, will have their first rematch of that series against the Golden State Warriors on December 10 in San Francisco. The team hosts the Warriors at TD Garden on January 19. The C’s will also get an early rematch of the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals on their first road trip of the season when they take on the Miami Heat on October 21.

The Celtics play on Christmas Day for the seventh consecutive season when they host their Eastern Conference Semifinals opponent the Milwaukee Bucks, serving as the third of five featured matchups chosen by the NBA for their Christmas Day slate.

The C’s will have a home-heavy schedule around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays as they will host a six-game homestand (Nov. 23 – Dec. 2) featuring matchups against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 23, and then a two-game set against the Miami Heat on Nov. 30 and Dec.2. The Celtics will have a season-long seven game homestand in December (Dec. 16 – Dec. 29) that will also see key offseason addition Malcolm Brogdon take on his former team the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 21. The Celtics will close out the calendar year of 2022 with a home game against the LA Clippers on December 29.

The team hits the road for the majority of January as they play a season-high 10 road games during the month that include trips to 2022 First Round playoff opponent Brooklyn on Jan. 12 and Miami on Jan. 24. The Celtics welcome longtime rival, the Los Angeles Lakers, for their lone Saturday home game of the season on Jan. 28 for a primetime game on ABC.

Boston will close out the 2022-23 season at home with a matinee game against the Atlanta Hawks on April 9.

Tickets for all Celtics games played at TD Garden during the 2022-23 NBA season will be available by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18 through Ticketmaster and can be accessed at Celtics.com or on the Celtics app. Please note, Ticketmaster is the only verified source for Boston Celtics tickets.
