By Tom King - Staff Writer | May 13, 2022

The Patriots 2022 schedule, as shown on their twitter account.

Let the analysis of W’s and L’s begin, as we always knew who the New England Patriots would play this year, but now we know when.

But it will be awhile before the local fans can watch them at Gillette Stadium, which will have two prime time games but all the other home games as of now are starting at 1 p.m.

The Patriots will open the season with two games on the road, at Miami on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. and then are at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 18. They won’t have their first home game at Gillette Stadium until Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. when they host the Baltimore Ravens.

In fact three of the team’s first four games are on the road. The Patriots are at the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4:25 p.m.

New England has five prime time games, starting with a Monday Night game at Gillette on Oct. 24 (8:15) against the Chicago Bears, whose president and CEO is Nashua native Ted Phillips.

They’re the Prime Time Patriots again for a four week stretch beginning with Thanksgiving Night when they’re at the Minnesota Vikings (8:20 p.m.)

They’re home vs. Buffalo the following Thursday on Dec. 1 at 8:15 p.m., then have a second Monday night game, this one at Arizona on Dec. 12 (8:15 p.m.). Their only Sunday Night game is the last of that stretch, when they see former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, at the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Dec. 18.

The Patriots two games with the Jets are Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Meadowlands and Sunday, Nov. 20 at Gillette, also at 1 p.m., right before their prime time stretch.

Other notables: The defending Super Bowl champion Cincinnati Bengals celebrate Christmas Eve at Gillette at 1p.m., then the Miami Dolphins ring in the new year at New England on Sunday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. The Patriots finish up the season at the Bills either on Jan. 7 or 8, at a time to be determined.

The team’s bye week is the weekend of Nov. 13.
