Generous offer of face masks brings peace of mind

By Christine Graham - Chris' Mailbag | Apr 22, 2023

“A mask that covers nose and mouth, protecting oneself and others is what it’s all about!”

By now most of us know wearing a mask, washing hands, and practicing social distancing helps reduce the spread of viruses.

Masks help protect the respiratory system from allergies, said to lower potential for blood clots, heart disease, heart attack and stroke.

Whether required, recommended, or worn indeed, masks are offered in the Mailbag to individuals or organizations in need.

Masks available … Here’s to your health!

“We have three cases of disposable face masks, each case holds about forty boxes, and each box holds fifty masks” writes Janice Pack, Deputy Town Administrator for the Town of Wilton, NH.

“We have already made so many available at town events and still have more than we will ever need. Pick up would be appreciated.”

Being non-perishable it’s safe to say these masks can be kept on hand for current or upcoming occasions, events and gatherings.

Interested parties should contact Janice at 603-654-3299.

Bed Rail offers safe, secure sleep

“We have a like-new Home Safe Bed Rail to offer to anyone in need” writes Mike H. of Nashua. “The instructions state for children ages 2-5, but it was used on our bed for my wife when she returned from hospital. It’s already assembled, easy to slide under the mattress, and bed rail can be quickly and easily folded down from outside of bed. Instructions included with easy pictures. Must be picked up.”

A bed rail, also called a bed assist or bed safety rail, is meant to be a supportive aid for added stability when sitting down on standing up from bed, prevent falling or rolling out of bed, and assist in repositioning in bed. When less assistance is needed, a person may be more confident functioning independently.

Safety while bathing baby

“My daughter needs an infant bath seat, we probably could even use a couple of them for my house, too” says Karen T. of Amherst. “She’s using one of my laundry baskets tonight to bathe him in.”

Using a baby bath seat which sits partially submerged in the bathwater provides support for the infants head and back and also helps the baby to stay put, intended but not always guaranteed.

Leaving the mother or caregivers hands free also provides additional safety for everyone involved.

Anyone with an infant bath seat available might want to reach out to Karen and her daughter at 603-769-9260. Laundry baskets are best left to laundry.
