Chamber plays vital role for businesses

By Wendy Hunt - President and CEO of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce | Apr 17, 2021

Wendy Hunt

As the new president and CEO of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to speak to the business community about the benefits of Chamber membership.

Starting my fifth year in the Chamber world, I am often asked, In this digital and online world, are Chambers of Commerce still relevant? And my answer is a resounding YES, and now more than ever.

While Chambers of Commerce have certainly changed throughout the years, our relevance is as strong as ever because we truly make a difference in the fate of small businesses and organizations. When a business joins the Greater Nashua Chamber, they are backed by a team that not only cares about their success, but also has the resources available to help them grow, network, connect and succeed. We are the primary catalyst for the success of Greater Nashua’s diverse business and nonprofit communities through advocacy, building connections and professional development.

This is especially true after an economic disruption such as 2020’s unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, it upended our lives and the way we do business. In response, the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce immediately pivoted to become the community resource for our businesses, offered up-to-date information and support. We emerged as a vital conduit of communication between state and federal officials and our businesses, and advocated for the needs of the business community both at the state and federal level on an almost daily basis.

Proving vital to the survival of our businesses during the pandemic, the Greater Nashua Chamber is now playing a crucial role in the business community’s recovery, and will continue to do so over the next few months and years to come.

Although 2021 is looking brighter, most businesses were hit hard this past year and still are recovering. They now need the tools with which to grow and thrive. They need a community, a network, support, professional development and business resources, advocacy and visibility. The Greater Nashua Chamber provides all of that and more.

We have a complete vision for the Greater Nashua area’s economic future. No matter where you are in your business cycle of life – just starting out or looking to expand – Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce membership benefits are designed for all types of business: small business, nonprofits, corporations and individuals to gain access and visibility in our community.
