Right to work … for more

The world is in the midst of a global pandemic, the likes of which we haven’t experienced in more than 100 years.

And there is one very important thing that the New Hampshire General Court can do to help New Hampshire’s economy come out of the pandemic stronger than it went in.

Pass a New Hampshire Right to Work law now.

A New Hampshire Right to Work law would fix a system that currently says workers must join a union — even if they don’t want to — just to get or keep a job.

Fortunately, ending forced unionism would resolve all of this by making it so that joining a union is no longer a condition of getting or keeping a job.

A New Hampshire Right to Work law would also boost New Hampshire’s economy by creating more jobs and increasing worker pay.

From 2009 to 2019, the growth in number of people employed in New Hampshire was 8.1%, while in Right to Work states the growth in number of people employed was a whopping 16.9%.

That’s more than twice what New Hampshire experienced!

But the benefits of Right to Work don’t stop there.

People living in Right to Work states also make more than those in New Hampshire after accounting for cost of living

In 2019, real disposable household income after adjusting for cost of living was $2,207 more in Right to Work states than in New Hampshire, which means extra money in workers’ pockets for food, gas, the kids’ college fund or an occasional vacation.

The picture should be clear: Right to Work has tremendous economic benefits for New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire General Court should pass Right to Work now.

A New Hampshire Right to Work law will help New Hampshire rebound faster than ever from the pandemic.

New Hampshirites need to be able to pay bills and put food on the table during these tough times, and a New Hampshire Right to Work law will allow them to do just that.
