Sunday Telegraph, refreshed website offers Greater Nashua residents increased content

By Matthew Burdette - Editor in Chief | May 2, 2020

Welcome to The Sunday Telegraph, as we begin a new era in a history that dates back nearly 200 years.

Today’s newspaper takes a step forward as we publish our weekly print edition. It also offers a reflective look back with some historical pieces that are prominently featured inside 44 pages that are chock-full of local news.

The Telegraph’s slogan long has been “It’s Our Community.”

We want each week’s print edition and our website www.nashuatelegraph.com to fully embody that concept and showcase our readers and our community.

We have some new and returning ways in which to do just that.

We hope readers will notice the changes to our Opinion Pages, now titled Community Forum. We still publish letters to the editor and guest columns here, but we also are working to engage more of our readership.

This week, we have done that through a person-on-the-street public opinion snapshot along with a point-counter-point feature. In the latter, we two locals debate the topic of whether businesses should be able to reopen in New Hampshire as COVID-19 concerns continue.

I’m actively seeking topics for this weekly segment. I also hope to see more guest columns and community submissions.

This includes photos.

We want to invite readers to send us family pictures. When life as we used to know it resumes, we know many of you will get together first and foremost with family.

If you take a photo of those special reunions, send them our way. Pictures of three, four, five or more generations together are really special. We’d like to share in those moments with you.

Even better, while you may be isolating at home, please take a moment look through your photo archives. We welcome generational photos, such as what I described above, anniversary, wedding, engagement and birthday announcements and images as we help recognize those celebrations of life.

Now, more that ever, The Telegraph is able to interact with our readers.

Daily, you can log onto our website and read news as it happens. Each week, you can pick up the printed copy or flip through the Sunday e-edition online.

We appreciate being an invited guest into your homes and your lives.

Please send photos and story ideas to neighbors@nashuatelegraph.com or to me directly at mburdette@nashuatelegraph.com.
