Tax relief

By Sen. Gary Daniels - | Sep 10, 2022

I am pleased to report that hard-working folks in the towns of Senate District 11 will be getting even more help this year because of decisions we made in Concord in the 2022 legislative session. This year’s tax relief adds to the significant savings we provided taxpayers last year. In fact, over the course of the past two years, we’ve delivered a half-billion dollars in tax relief statewide for Granite Staters.

For Senate District 11, our initiatives delivered more than $8 million to help lower property taxes. This included nearly $1.4 million for increased revenue sharing under the Rooms and Meals Tax, almost $1.2 million for local road construction and nearly $1.35 million for local bridge projects. Last year, we cut the Statewide Education Property Tax (SWEPT), saving taxpayers in Amherst more than a million dollars this year, and nearly $2 million in savings for Merrimack families and businesses. The Extraordinary Need Grants we passed this year will mean an extra $100,000 going to schools in Milford and Wilton.

As chair of the Senate Finance Committee, I was pleased to play a key role in providing this level of tax relief, and I will continue to serve as a good steward of taxpayer dollars.
