Republicans?

By Raymond Guarino - Nashua | Jul 30, 2022

In her recent guest column, Di Lothrop claims that Cassidy Hutchinson’s congressional testimony was based on office gossip and hearsay. What makes Ms. Lothrop an expert on what was going on inside Trump’s White House is a mystery especially considering that Ms. Hutchinson actually worked there and Ms. Lothrop probably never set foot there. We do know that Ms. Hutchinson testified in front of Congress under oath, and was obligated to tell the truth or face penalties.

Ms. Lothrop and Ms. Hutchinson are both Republicans; however, the difference is Ms. Hutchinson is loyal to the Constitution and to upholding the Republic we call the United States. On the other hand, Ms. Lothrop, based on her diatribe published in the Telegraph, is loyal to Trump. This is an important distinction in today’s Republican Party, it has too many followers loyal to the personality cult of Trump instead of people loyal to the Republic. So, I ask how can people who support a man who tried to destroy our Republic on Jan. 6, 2021, continue to call themselves Republicans?
