Pappas priority

By Sue Holstein - Ministerial Branch, Bedford | May 28, 2022

Too many of us are getting bad news that our drinking water is contaminated. Industry should not get a free pass to poison our water. We should not have to wonder whether our drinking water is safe when we turn on our tap.

The good news is that our Congressman, Chris Pappas, is working to protect our health and safety and hold polluters accountable. Earlier this month Pappas introduced a bill that would do just that by setting water quality criteria and supporting communities with contaminated water.

Dubbed the Clean Water Standards for PFAS Act, it would regulate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) chemicals under the Clean Water Act to finally stop manufacturers and other polluters from contaminating our nation’s waterways with toxic levels of PFAS.

Addressing the dangers of toxic, forever chemicals like PFAS is one of Congressman Pappas’ top priorities. Re-electing Chris Pappas to Congress should be a top priority for New Hampshire voters.
