My husband and I went to the Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) program at Rivier University. It is laudable that Rivier hosts this, as the Holocaust was truly a stain on all humanity. That centuries of European anti-Semitism culminated in the “civilized” Germans and their eager accomplices across Europe looting, starving, shooting, gassing and torturing to death six million Jews, 1.5 million of them children, is something that should never be forgotten. And all while the world turned a blind eye and refused to help or admit Jewish refugees.

Sister Paula Marie Buley spoke eloquently to begin the program. What a shame then, that the featured speaker chose to politicize what should have been a memorial to murdered Jews.

He repeated the lie that liberals love, about how President Donald Trump called neo-Nazis fine people. If one actually cared to read Trump’s words, he CONDEMNED neo-Nazi-types and said that there were good people on both sides OF THE ISSUE OF REMOVING CONFEDERATE STATUES. We got up and left the program after this. We came for a Holocaust memorial, not leftist political propaganda.

Much like The Telegraph putting Doonesbury, a vitriolic, leftist political cartoon, alongside Garfield and Beetle Bailey in the Sunday funnies instead of on the editorial page where it belongs, it seems like the left can’t stop sneaking their lies and misinformation in, wherever possible. Or, just not reporting anything that does not support their agenda. Or, blocking the information on liberal-controlled internet platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, etc.

I guess it is easier than facing the disaster wrought on this country by the Biden/Harris administration like record-high inflation, dropping GDP, soaring gas prices, the incompetent pullout from Afghanistan, the disastrous situation on our southern border where massive numbers of unvetted and undocumented immigrants are not only being allowed in, but are being flown in the middle of the night all over the country at taxpayer expense, inept foreign policy, the treasonous actions of Joe Biden selling access to himself as vice president to foreign governments through his criminal son, Hunter, the gross incompetence of Vice President Kamala Harris, the racism and sexism of awarding important positions based on gender and race rather than qualification, Biden’s apparent senility and so much more.

The Sunday funnies and certainly a Holocaust Memorial Service are not appropriate places for biased, partisan political propaganda.
