Vote no on Warrant Article 9

By Pamela Kendall - Hudson | Mar 5, 2022

Hudson residents, please vote NO on town election Warrant Article 9 – expansion of police facility.

Several serious crimes were swept under the rug by the Hudson Police Department.

In 2012, a tenant where I live was getting into my mailbox. This was reported to a Hudson female officer who dismissed it out of hand and told me “not to come back!” I’ve paid for a postal box ever since.

In 2018, I reported a hit and run. I made at least a dozen trips to the police department trying to get correct service. The incorrect police report and the way they mishandled this case was so bungled and contemptuous that I had to seek justice through the court, winning a check for damages a year later.

In 2021, I reported stalking, spying and cell phone hacking that took place during my daily walks in town. All was promptly rejected by the same female officer mentioned above. She arrogantly scoffed at my every word and told me to “FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO WALK!”

That’s right … protect the perpetrator and punish the victim! That’s today’s way of doing things.

I contacted Chief William Avery, requesting the proper people be sent out to my residence to listen to my account and conduct an investigation. Two officers came out. I provided them a full, detailed account – dates, times, places, several licence plates, descriptions of persons and vehicles.

Parting words from first officer, “Leave police work to police, we will go talk to these people.” Words from the second officer, “I will call you.”

After four months of silence, I called them and was told that they didn’t talk to anyone, because they didn’t know who they were. This is an outrage and an obvious cover-up.

The HPD doesn’t need expansion. They need to fire lazy, corrupt, useless, abusive employees who are collecting undeserved paychecks and benefits from hard-working Hudson taxpayers. They need a systemic overhaul.

Hudson selectman’s office candidate Rich Weissgarber is acting the part of a lobbyist for the HPD facility expansion. His wife already works in the selectman’s office. Anyone schmoozing with the police should not have a seat of influence in our selectman’s office. Please vote NO on the town Warrant Article 9, and don’t give Weissgarber a town goverment position.
