Vote yes on 6, 7 and 8
As a former town of Hudson selectman and planning board member, I encourage voters to vote yes on warrant articles 6, 7, and 8 at the annual town election to be held on March 8, 2022. These three articles will bring much needed clarity in reference to protecting residential neighborhoods from industrial
development.
For example, the proposed manufacturing/warehouse facility for the friary property off of Lowell Road is slated to be 504,000 sq. ft. with 104 truck docks, 71 truck slips and 362 parking slots, 35-foot high intensity lights and located just 200 feet behind Hickory Street and Fox Hollow. If proposed articles are adopted, such a facility would not be permitted in zones General and G-1. Likewise, in permitted areas, a building of this nature, adjacent to a residential area, would incur greater setbacks based on height and square footage.
In voting against these proposed articles; the Planning Board, as presently constituted, clearly indicate they show little concern on the impact these large-scale facilities will have on established neighborhoods relative to noise, visual impact, and associated traffic on an overextended Lowell Road.
In closing I respectfully encourage Hudson voters to become informed and make a concerted effort to vote on March 8.
