America’s tech advantage
Because of the remarkable technology infrastructure that American visionaries and entrepreneurial leaders have built, I have built a successful and rewarding career. For over 15 years, I have worked as a digital marketer, developing and designing websites, creating digital content, overseeing email marketing, social media marketing and other essential service programs. This tech infrastructure allows for unimaginably innovative services and benefits to be provided to clients and consumers alike that would have been hard to envision a generation ago. That this is happening here in New Hampshire is no surprise, where we have built our state’s success and pacesetting economic growth through embracing technology and innovation. In truth, we are one of the top states in America for start-ups, despite not having an Austin or San Francisco zip code. Today I fear that the domestic tech innovations that have allowed me to build a career and support my family are at risk because of the ongoing efforts of Congress to undermine so called “Big Tech”. America’s tech advantage is essential for small and medium sized businesses, but it is also critical to ensuring our national security and competitive advantage. China and other international players have no problem tilting the playing field to help their state-owned tech enterprises at the expense of our national interests. As Congress considers dramatically regulating technology firms, I urge them instead to support, rather than undermine, the countless small businesses and rural and suburban zip codes that rely on America’s tech innovators.
