New Hampshire’s hospitals are overrun with COVID cases – every day more and more NH people are hospitalized with COVID; the vast majority of them unvaccinated. Hospital staff are stressed out, overworked, and burnt out. What’s the long term effect of this situation? We’re bankrupting NH hospitals, and critical care nurses and other hard to replace staff are leaving – they’ve had it! So much for the “NH Advantage.” What kind of state will we have in the future?

New Hampshire’s Republican government is failing its citizens big time. NH’s radical right legislature, including its large contingent of “Free Staters,” are doing all they can to ignore these problems. Worse, they are actively introducing new legislation to stop mask mandates in businesses and schools, and stop mandated vaccinations or testing requirements. They initially refused Federal COVID funds, then belatedly accepted them, delaying needed personnel help in the vaccine front. NH’s radical state government has joined other right-wing states in bringing a lawsuit challenging the federal government’s efforts to increase vaccine rates. They seem to relish an anti-science position against combating the spread of COVID in NH. Oh sure, our ‘happy talk’ governor will say that he’s all for people getting vaccinated, but beyond those hollow pronouncements, NH’s Republican government is doing everything in its power to prevent science-based responses to COVID.

With NH now the COVID capital of the US, we certainly are the “Live Free and Die” state. What a sorry situation our state government has created. Please write the governor and your NH representatives and state senators, and tell them to stop this nonsense. Better yet, please vote them out of office come next November.
