Donald Trump will BE the 2024 Republican candidate for president – you can bet on it!

Democrats can continue to wring their hands and say “woe is us” all they want, but if they don’t pay attention to down ballot races, it’s their own darn fault.

Let’s consider where we’re at. New Hampshire Republicans currently control everything – governor, Executive Council, House and Senate. New Hampshire Republicans are actively working on voter suppression laws that are the envy of Texas, and they are rivaling Texas’ severe anti-abortion laws.

Let’s focus on the 2022 election. Gov. Chris Sununu will definitely challenge (and maybe beat) Maggie Hassan for U.S. Senate. In the meantime, Republicans will further cause mischief and pass who knows what more crazy laws to suppress voting and/or screw with counting votes. And, New Hampshire Republicans are doing their every 10-year as usual gerrymandering of Granite State voting districts to ensure majority rule for potentially years to come.

Why have Democrats allowed this to happen? They haven’t won the down ballot vote. Sure, they elected Joe Biden president, but what happened at local levels? Republicans took everything in New Hampshire. How do we counteract Trump 2024? Don’t ignore down ballot voting in 2022 (and 2024). If you want democracy to survive, pay attention AND VOTE for qualified down ballot candidates at ALL levels, from governor to school board.
