An open letter
An open letter to President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and any elected official, news media or academia person who feels the way they do.
I’m a white American male, currently retired. I’m a USN veteran (Vietnam era), college educated, I prefer being outside rather than inside. I own firearms, I do not own a pickup truck.
About six years ago you tried to shame and embarrass me, because I supported Donald Trump. I remember being told I was “uneducated”, morally depressive, mentally unstable and above it all I was “deplorable”. Well that effort didn’t work as I still support President Trump.
Not too long ago you tried to shame and embarrass me because I’m white. I was insensitive, racist, privileged and I should be ashamed. First off no one of any race, creed, color, should be ashamed of who they are. I’m not. I grew up a small white kid in a black neighborhood, (SE Washington DC) suffered my share of beatings because I was white. My father was an alcoholic who, when the alcohol took over became abusive.
So I’m still trying to figure out, which of those things is a privilege?
Now you are trying to shame and embarrass me because I’m an American.
In this effort you are succeeding. Your performance, or better said, lack of performance on our southern boarder, letting in criminals, drugs, slave traders, and people with highly contagious infectious diseases, is nothing short of criminal. Couple that with your Middle East debacle, (Afghanistan is just the beginning ) makes me glad I’m here in the United States, and not abroad, being laughed at and scorned.
