Republicans deliver
The recently passed Republican state budget has a great victory for the town of Merrimack – the removal of the Merrimack tolls.
Merrimack residents have been the hardest hit at the toll booths and I’m grateful to be part of the Republican team that – once and for all – is ending the Merrimack tolls.
A lot of people always ask us what we do in the legislature, and while a lot of the bills and budget provisions can definitely get into the minutia, everyone should celebrate and understand what the closure of the Merrimack tolls means for the people of Merrimack and our surrounding communities. It’ll benefit everyone – our businesses that saw the tolls deterring people from coming to Merrimack and our residents who wanted to freely travel to and from Merrimack without being penalized for it.
Removing the tolls is a big win, and I’m grateful we were able to finally get it done. It had been a priority for my dear friend, late Speaker Dick Hinch. By removing the tolls through our responsible Republican budget, we’re carrying on his legacy and I hope we’re making him proud.
Republicans delivered for Merrimack and the surrounding region by removing the tolls that have been such a nuisance – we should all be happy about that.
