Thumbs down to the activists club

By Anthony Johnson - Nashua | May 1, 2021

After reading the article in the Sunday, April 25 Telegraph from the Nashua North Student Activists Club about the Pledge of Allegiance, I would have to rate it as a big “Thumbs Down.”

Reading the content of the article made me laugh, made me frustrated, made we worried about our future as a city, state, and our country as a whole. It also brought a slight tear to my eye when reading the part “students at our own schools have been frequently affected by the Pledge rules. I have been forced to stand when I was as young as 6 years old. We were never taught the significance of the Pledge and were instead expected to blindly recite it.”

Oh, the horror that poor child has had to endure since the ripe old age of 6. My God, what type of society would put a poor child through that type of emotional scaring during their educational development years? Can anyone actually take this group of “student activists” seriously after reading this article? I look forward to the next letter from these “student activists” to The Telegraph informing the residents of Nashua and beyond of the next great injustice they plan to challenge and conquer.
