All that goes out the window

By Raymond Guarino - Nashua | Apr 10, 2021

When one is given the trust to be an elected official, it means taking on the role of leadership. Leadership comes with the understanding that one must know his or her constituency, and that not everyone is alike and communities are not all equal. Gov. Chris Sununu has again and again made decisions not in the best interest of all, but in the best interest of only his narrow constituency.

When it comes to school funding, not all communities are equal, yet our governor pushes a failed voucher and charter school model that will undermine the financial future of the vast majority of New Hampshire’s public school students. When it comes to dealing with the COVID pandemic, Sununu refuses to or is unable to understand that this pandemic has hit some municipalities like Nashua harder than some others in New Hampshire, and yet he tells all school districts in New Hampshire to begin full time in person learning at the same time.

Gov. Sununu, a self identified “Trump guy,” is supposed to be on the side of conservatism, liberty and most importantly local control, but when it comes to serving only the needs of his own narrow, affluent constituency, all that goes out the window.
