Representative Rick Ladd’s anti-trans bill is transphobic at worst, and childishly reactionary at best.

Is this really the most pressing concern in the state of New Hampshire right now, while we are still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and trying to get residents immunized in an efficient and timely fashion?

While it may be true that we want our children to return to their athletics once it is safe, what Rep. Ladd and those backing him may fail to realize that there is zero evidence confirming this “advantage” concept.

If science does not drive them, I instead will point out that if this does move forward perhaps this will lead to the outcome they feared and lead to lowered participation–but because students now fear joining a sport because of policies such as this being forced through. And again, this bill is purely reactionary against the announcement from the White House. Is this kind of bullheadedness really sound policy-making? I urge everyone involved to strongly consider voting against this bill, for the sake of New Hampshire’s transgendered youth.
