Seeing where it goes
I find it remarkable that months after he left office, Donald Trump still evokes “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) in some readers of this newspaper, including William F. Klessens and Ruth Perencevich in last weeks letters to the editor. In fact, Mr. Klessens claims that “Trump’s rabid crew on January 6 at the Capital, have still “bought in” to their ugly mentality that dragged America to near Fascist depths over Trump’s term,” I am amused that the fact his hero Joe Biden has signed 50 executive orders since taking office on January 20th, a level unheard of in modern presidents first 100m days, let alone less than 60. This is without any role for the congress but the sole action of the man in the White House, who, in fact, acts more like a Fascist dictator than a unifying president.
He single-handedly opened our border with Mexico and is flooding the country with illegal immigrants from all over the world and many with cases of Covid-19 that go unchecked. He is keeping thousands of minor children in locked shipping containers who have no outside play and are lucky to get one shower a week. But this is not a “border crisis” according to Joe and Nancy P and the compliant media, and it is all Donald Trump’s fault anyway. He stopped the Keystone XLK Pipeline throwing thousands of highly skilled union members out of work and suspended all fracking and oil and gas exploration on public lands, which are sure to remove us from energy independence and raise fuel costa for everyone including those below the poverty line. That oil is going to move anyway by truck or by train and in a much less safe manner, with the possibility that much of it will go to China. I could go on, but when you are paying upwards of $3.00 a gallon for gasoline, thank your buddy Joe Biden.
Let’s look at some of what Donald Trump accomplished in his four-year term in office. First, he restricted travel from certain countries that could not provide background information on their citizens who wanted to come to the US as the San Bernardino killers did coming from Pakistan. Second, he demanded that all our NATO allies meet their funding obligations instead of relying on good old “Uncle Sugar” to pay the highest amount while Germany and Italy did not meet their required contribution, with only nine members and the US meeting theirs. He ended the wars in Syria and Afghanistan and brought most of the troop’s home. He passed and signed the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which incentivized investment in the inner cities and raised individual income by meaningful amounts. He renegotiated NAFTA and replaced it with the USMCA bringing back jobs from Mexico and opening Canada to our dairy products at fair prices. He made us energy independent, and we became a net exporter of natural gas. Further, we paid the lowest average price for a gallon of gas at $1,74 in April 2019 which has now gone to an average of $2,86 nationwide. He withdrew from the Paris Climate Accords because ti gave China and India a ten-year advantage over American companies since they did not have to meet the climate restrictions until 2030. Joe Biden just put us back into the Paris Accords. Donald Trump presided over the lowest unemployment rate in fifty years, and it would have continued but for the Chinese virus pandemic which shuttered many small businesses across the country. He instituted “Operation Warp-Speed” to develop a vaccine for Covid-19 in less than ten months, a process that normally takes years to develop, and in fact, millions of Americans have received the Moderna, Pfizer, or the Johnson & Johnson versions to date. In addition, he took control of our Southern Border and built over 450 miles of modern wall as well as forcing refugees to remain in Mexico until their court date was scheduled. Both of which Joe Biden ended and we are back to a “crisis” at the border. I could go on, but these are just some of the things that President trump accomplished in his four years in office despite two phony impeachment attempts by the democrats in the house led by Nancy Pelosi.
We will now get to see where Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will take us, and I think we will be looking at a socialist agenda.
