My vaccination experience

By Barry Hoberman - Nashua | Feb 27, 2021

I recently received my first COVID-19 vaccination shot and would like to relate my experience in the hope that you will share with your readers how a difficult problem can be managed in a highly successful manner.

I am a 76 year old veteran who receives his primary medical care from the Manchester VA. They contacted me to schedule this shot several weeks prior, and followed up with detailed instructions in the mail.

When I arrived for my scheduled appointment at the Manchester VA, I was greeted by VA people, starting at the front door and all along the way to the primary care location where the vaccine was being administered. These folks were not only very helpful, but were very cheery as they offered their assistance. Additionally, they were backed up by signs which provided concise yet complete and clear instructions on the procedures to be followed.

I was called for my shot within 5 minutes of the scheduled time, and proceeded to painlessly receive the injection, have my 2nd vaccine shot scheduled, and wait the required time to ensure I was not having any adverse reaction. I departed a ½ hour after I had arrived.
