Over the years, I have been dismayed to watch as the Republican party, once a voice of moderation, has become increasingly radicalized. This process accelerated during the past four years as Donald Trump stoked extremist factions to cement his personal power and glory. His extremist fringe now seems to be in control of the Republican party.

I call upon reasonable Republicans to take back the party from Trump. For this to happen he must be totally repudiated by Republican party stalwarts. To this end, I urge you to use your influence with elected officials at all levels to support Trump’s impeachment and conviction. His incitement to violent insurrection must be condemned. Our Constitution must be upheld. By failing to do so, the Republican party risks losing all credibility with voters.
