Thanksgiving words of gratitude

By Donnalee Lozeau - Executive Director, Southern New Hampshire Services Inc. | Dec 12, 2020

I’m writing to express my gratitude to Fred Manheck, owner of Celebrations Catering, who for many years has served a beautiful and bountiful Thanksgiving meal to our residents at Mary’s House located in Nashua. Each year we send him a thank-you letter expressing our appreciation. This year, we thought it would be nice to send our thank you in a very public way, so our greater community could see such wonderful kindness!

As has happened with so many holiday plans, we thought this year would have to be canceled and filed away under no “gatherings”. But without us even asking he reached out to ask “how many” individual meals we would need to have so we could safely share a Thanksgiving meal.

It is not lost on us that providing meals individually is far costlier and time consuming when catering to a group. But Fred never hesitated, and instead, made possible not only the menu but also the occasion for the residents to safely distance, share in a delicious Thanksgiving meal and keep the tradition of ‘Celebrations’ alive in 2020.

I like to say that at Southern New Hampshire Services, your Community Action Agency, we are ‘the helpers’. During the pandemic I am proud of our staff who have not missed a beat in providing critical programming to our clients, new and old. Fred’s generosity is a wonderful reminder that the helpers can be found outside of our agency’s walls as well. Fred joins us in putting the ‘action’ in community action.

On behalf of all those at Mary’s House, and for all that he has offered over the years, I send my gratitude to Fred and his staff. Warmest wishes from our Southern New Hampshire Services family to all at Celebrations Catering for a happy and safe holiday season.
