Why I can’t vote Democratic this year
Some people will vote on Covid, which has traumatized the nation but it will be temporary. A vote for former VP Biden will have long term consequences.
He is silent on the huge financial hit the economy’s taken with shutdowns. His proposed new spending is any candidate’s highest in 48 years! With thousands of businesses closing or bankrupt, and millions unemployed, where’s the money? Taxing the wealthy is the beginning but the rest of us will be paying the balance for Free College, the Green New Deal, and the exploding federal deficit for years to come.
To win progressives’ support, his agenda has moved dramatically leftward. They want to eliminate the Senate filibuster. This means fewer Senators are required to pass a measure and Republicans’ aren’t needed. This makes it easier to propose statehood for Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. (adding 4 more Democratic Senators) and to “pack” the court by increasing the number of Justices to the Supreme Court.
“Cancel Culture” on a nationwide scale!
Then there’s his Single Payer healthcare plan which would eliminate private insurance for millions and use unelected bureaucrats to determine what and who is covered. Not a good start.
He also seems to have written off many of the nation’s major Democratic-controlled cities. The rioting, looting, and consistently failing schools barely get a mention. Is this his new normal for the country?
Who can risk voting Democratic? The stakes are too high. I’ll take Trump.
